GET TOGETHER OF ALL EC MEMBERS

 Organized a Get Together of all previous executive committee members and current executive members of Citizens Forum Yelahanka New town at BBMP Office building Yelahanka New Town on 11 November 2017. The new Executive committee members made a presentation of the achievements of the Forum. The members present  participated in the deliberation and made valuable suggestions for the improvements of the forum.


CHILDREN'S DAY CELEBRATION

 Women's wing and EC Members of Citizens Forum visited Samaa Fondation special children day care center on 29th November, 2017 and celebrated Children's' Day, conducted activities like origami craft, singing etc and spend a good time with all children and their staff.

ANNUAL GENERAL BODY MEETING - 2017

The 16th  Annual General Body Meeting of the Citizens Forum was held in the premises of Jnanajyothi Educational thInstitutions, Yelahanka New Town on 27 August 2017 at 4:00 PM. The Members assembled at 4 pm.  The AGM was started with the Invocation by  Smt. Aiswarya of Women’s Wing. The members present observed one minute's silence to pay homage for those members passed away during the current period.  The President Shri T.K. Puttaswamy welcomed the gathering  and briefly explained the achievements of the Forum for the current term 2015-2016 and 2016-2017. The major achievements of the forum was its participation in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan whereby the Solid waste management system was launched by BBMP in which Citizens forum was one of the most important participants. The Secretary's Annual Report presented by Rajappan K.N. General Secretary and the Audited Accounts presented by Dr. S. B. Krishnappa, Treasurer  were passed by the AGM after discussion. The Annual General Body elected new Committee for the period 2017-2019  . The meeting was concluded with the vote of thanks by Shri N.C.Rajasekharaiah Vice President and followed by light refreshments

Meetings with Yelahanka Police and Traffic Police

Citizens Forum had meetings with Yelahanka Police Inspector and ACP Traffic and discussed the law and order problems and traffic problems. ACP assured that all possible efforts would be made to regulate the traffic in Yelahanka New Town . A letter was handed over to the Assistant commissioner Certain traffic related issues pertaining to Yelahanka New Town. A letter containing the following demands was handed over to Assistant Commissioner of Police on   11/11/2017

There should be one-way to be between Seshadripuram College to Mother dairy road, Instalation of CCTV camera at different location, Penguin crossing near Educational institutions and Market places. Traffice signal light points near Bommasander circle, Gnana jyothi college,Seshadripuram college, Mother diary cross, 4th phase near Med-plus, Aroma bakery, Doordarshan and industrial area of 4th phaseVehicles parking on footpath are not governed,No parking No halting (tow away) boards to be displayed,Odd and Even days parking are to be regularized,Two wheelers are driven by more than two riders that too by youngsters between the age group of 20- 30 years without helmet in a rash way of driving. It should be stopped.

GANDHI JAYANTHI

Gandhi Jayanthi was celebrated along with honorable MLA Shri S.R.Viswanath and Honourable Corporator Shri Satish at the Shopping complex premises, Yelahanka New Town.  The participants cleared the garbage near the complex, painted the compound wall and wrote slogans for swachh bharat. DEMONSTRATION AGAINST FOOTPATH ENCROACHMENT
Citizens' Forum organized a rally to create awareness on encroachment of footpath for parking vehicles and using businessmen to demonstrate their products. The event was triggered by Mr. A. Padmanabh, founder president of the Citizens forum. Citizens forum Executive Committee members along with others participated in the event. TV9 accompanied the rally and telecasted the event.

Letter to Namma Bengaluru Foundation

      Sub: Nomination Of Shri. A. Padmanabha For Citizens Individual Of Namma Bengaluru Award
Shri A.Padmanabha  is founder President of Citizens forum in 1970. His contribution to Yelahanka new town continued by guiding the forum activities and taking up initiatives himself to bring in some changes in the way we operate. We regularly get his support and guidance Following are some of his initiatives: - Road Mithras are created in each road to monitor and support citizens forum activities by communicating the happenings in that area. His idea and support is spectacular. He was of the view that to make Yelahanka New town a model town, school and college children’s were to be educated to take up projects in GREEN GLOW areas. A 5 year project was evolved to systematically train and engage the students by bringing in resourceful persons from research institutions to engage the students. At the end of the project each school created a eco club and in turn a green environment was created inside the campus. This project was called GREEEN GLOW program and was well received by all. It led to parents of the students following the scientific way of disposing the garbage created at home. On account of this initiative we were able to introduce house to house segregation very easily. He, through his own initiative, organized Khatha Melato distribute hassle free Khathas to poor and underprivileged people. Under his guidance, numerous health care camps were held. His personal initiative to prevent the two wheelers parking on the food path by his personalized request card tied on those vehicles were well received by all.He has initiated the organization of meetings with contestants ( MLA, corporators)before election with the citizens of Yelahanka to elicit their view.His interest in preservation and maintenance of lakes and parks were well seen by his feat of creating a trust to rejuvenate Puttenahalli Lake.He is also instrumental in bringing in financial support under CSR for all our activities. 
We are blessed to have him with us. His excellent organizing capacity, communication skill and equally motivation skill has enhanced the activities of the Citizens forum of Yelahanka new town.  Keeping in view these facts, we hereby nominate Mr.  A. Padmanabha from our citizens forum Yelahanka New Town for Citizens Individual of Namma Bengaluru award
